Building Futures Provides Pathways to Success

The Workforce Development Center is looking for individuals to participate in Building Futures. Offered in partnership with Milwaukee Community Service Corps and Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha County, Building Futures is a full-time program that helps those ages 18-24, without a high school diploma, earn their GED while getting hands-on training and work experience in the construction trades.

In six months, participants will learn carpentry/construction skills, earn employer recognized certificates, complete their GED, and gain leadership skills. Participants also receive bi-weekly paychecks and job search assistance. Ideal candidates are ready to learn employability skills and have reliable transportation.

For young people who left high school without a diploma, Building Futures is an opportunity to reclaim their educations, gain the skills they need for employment, and become leaders in their communities. Training for the Fall 2016 cohort begins Monday, July 11 at the Workforce Development Center in Pewaukee.
