Fire officials said Crites Field was temporarily shut down late Wednesday after a plane skidded off the runway due to bad weather.

WAUKESHA, WI -- Crites field was temporarily shut down to incoming flights late Wednesday after authorities say an inbound flight from Texas skidded off the runway due to bad weather.

According to a release from the Waukesha Fire Department, first responders were called to Crites Field just after 8 p.m. Wednesday on a report that a Gates Learjet LJ35 airplane slid approximately 15 feet off the runway. The aircraft ran off the runway in inclement weather conditions, fire officials said.

The aircraft, which was transporting two pilots and four passengers, was incoming from Texas and was not based at Waukesha County Airport. There were no injuries reported as a result of Wednesday's incident, fire officials said.
