From the Desk of a Hacker: CyberSecurity Tips for Businesses

Workforce Development Center Offers Employer Open House on Cybersecurity

Doing business on the internet brings opportunity, but it also brings risk. The Workforce Development Center invites business leaders to attend an Employer Open House on cybersecurity Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Waukesha County Workforce Development Center, 892 Main Street in Pewaukee. Networking begins at 7:30 am, followed by the presentation at 8:00 am and a Q&A session.

“From the Desk of a Hacker: Top 5 Ways Businesses Could Stop Me…But Don’t” features the expertise of Jason Lang, Senior Information Assurance Consultant at SynerComm, Inc. Cybersecurity should be a priority for any organization that sends email or uses online accounts, but many are unaware of how easily data is stolen from vulnerable networks. Mr. Lang shares the most common ways businesses are compromised and what can be done to stop (or at least slow down) the bad guys. Taking simple steps can help protect a business’ assets against cybersecurity threats.

Jason Lang has worked in enterprise security for more than 10 years in both offensive and defensive roles. The majority of his work has revolved around security applications development using Microsoft .Net technologies. Jason now specializes in offensive security testing and training through penetration testing and social engineering (internal, external, and web).
