DPI Report Cards Were Released Thursday: Here's How Waukesha Performed

We list every school in the Waukesha School District. Here's how they fared over the 2015-16 school year:

WAUKESHA — School report cards released Thursday by the State Department of Public Instruction show that the Waukesha School District "meets expectations."

Scores are calculated for each of the following priority areas on the state report card:

• Student Achievement proficiency in English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics on state assessments

• Student Growth measured by year-to-year improvements in achievement

• Closing Gaps in performance between specific student groups (comparing English language learners, low-income students, students with disabilities, and members of a racial or an ethnic group with their peers)

• On-Track and Post-secondary Readiness is a measurement using reliable predictors of high school graduation and potential post high school success

The state DPI then weighs those metrics in order to deliver schools and districts a score from 0 to 100., Schools and districts then fall into one of five categories ranging from “significantly exceeds expectations” to “fails to meet expectations.”

According to the DPI report cards, Waukesha received 71.2 points and garnered three stars, meaning it "meets expectations."
