El Ranchito Customers Pay Cranky Diners' Bill to Avoid Scene; Police Called

WAUKESHA, WI — When two female diners tried to make a scene in order to skip out of a bill, police were called - but not before other customers paid their bill to avoid an incident.

Waukesha police responded to the El Ranchito Mexican Restaurant just before 8 p.m. Thursday on a report that two females with three children were causing a problem inside the restaurant.

The person who called police stated that the apparent issue was over their meal.
The person who called police reportedly tried to diffuse the situation by attempting to pay for their meal, but the family refused the friendly offer.
Two squads were dispatched to the restaurant, and determined that the upset customers were attempting to scam out of their bill by complaining about the order.
They also learned that other patrons ended up covering the bill to avoid a scene.
Police spoke with the restaurant owners, who were given options for handling the same problem customers in the future.
