Election 2018: Waukesha Feb. 20 Spring Primary Voter Guide
Election Day is coming up fast in Waukesha, and there are a few new polling places. Here's your guide to what's up, including voter ID.

WAUKESHA, WI — Election Day is coming up fast in Shorewood, and here is your guide to election day, including where to vote and how to deal with voter ID.
How to Register to vote:
- To vote in Wisconsin you must first register to vote. You can start the registration process online at My Vote WI: myvote.wi.gov.
- You can also register in-person at your local municipal clerk's office, or at the polling place on Election Day.
- You can register to vote online up to 20 days before the election. During that time period, you can start the registration process online at www.myvote.wi.gov, but you still have to print the application and send it to the clerk with a proof of residence document.

Know Your Voter ID:
According to the Wisconsin Election Commission, the following photo IDs are acceptable for voting purposes:

- A Wisconsin DOT-issued driver license, even if driving privileges are revoked or suspended
- A Wisconsin DOT-issued identification card
- Military ID card issued by the U.S. Uniformed Services
- A U.S. passport book or card
The following photo IDs are also acceptable for voting purposes:
- A certificate of naturalization (that was issued not earlier than two years before the date of the election)
- An identification card issued by a federally recognized Indian tribe in Wisconsin
- A driver license receipt issued by Wisconsin DOT (valid for 45 days from date issued)
- An identification card receipt issued by Wisconsin DOT (valid for 45 days from date issued)
- A Wisconsin DMV ID Petition Process Photo Receipt (valid for 180 days from date issued)
- A Veteran Affairs ID card (must be unexpired or have no expiration date)
- A photo identification card issued by a Wisconsin accredited university or college, or technical college that contains the following:
- Date the card was issued
- Signature of student
- Expiration date no later than two years after date of issuance, can still be used if expired
- The university or college ID must be accompanied by a separate document that proves enrollment, such as a tuition fee receipt, enrollment verification letter, or class schedule .
