In the quiet grandeur of St. Luke’s Church, enjoy some of the greatest British masterpieces for strings in an acoustically perfect setting. St. Paul’s Suite from Holst and Elgar’s Serenade for Strings will open the concert with beauty and elegance. From there, tenor Vale Rideout and French hornist Matthew Bronstein will join The Philharmonic’s tribute to Benjamin Britten’s centenary with his beloved Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings. Britten’s Simple Symphony will round out an elegant afternoon.
