The 1st Annual Fair Fun Run 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by 94.5 LAKE FM, will take place at 8:00 am on Saturday, July 23, 2011 on the Waukesha County Fairgrounds during the Waukesha County Fair, which runs Wednesday, July 20 thru Sunday, July 24. Runners/walkers of all skill levels and families are welcome to participate.
The race begins at 8:00 am and the 3.1 mile course takes participants around the perimeter of the fairgrounds including running in gravel, grass, dirt (possibly mud) and asphalt. The race will finish on the south end of the grounds, near the Leinie Lodge, site of the annual Kiwanis Pancake breakfast at the Fair. Participants are encouraged to stay and enjoy the pancakes after the run for just $5.
If you register by July 1, the registration fee is just $20 and includes one all day admission to the Fair good on Saturday, July 23 and a complimentary race T-shirt. Registration after July 1 is $25 and does not guarantee a T-shirt. Online registration closes at 11:59 pm on Thursday, July 21 but you can register on site the day of the race.
