Free Estate Planning Talk

Christ the King Lutheran Church in Delafield is offering a free estate planning discussion open to the community on Sun, March 13, at 9:30.

Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1600 N. Genesee St., Delafield, is offering a free estate planning discussion open to the community on Sunday, March 13, at 9:30 a.m. between the 8:15 and 10:45 church services.

Rev. Larry Westfield and Tim Knutson, both with Lutheran Planned Giving of Wisconsin, will be the featured speakers. They will focus on the importance of establishing a specific plan, trust, or will as to how one would want his or her assets to be distributed and penalties for not having a legal plan when needed.

Rev. Westfield mentioned that over 50 percent of Americans have no estate plans in place. Others also have plans that were drawn up many years ago that don’t reflect numerous changes in their lives that are not dealt with in their old plans. “It’s crucial that wills and trusts are up to date and specific about all financial assets or things can be very difficult, if not financially impacted, when distribution is to be made,” he indicated.
