HAWS ANNOUNCES GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY
Waukesha animal resource center to begin latest construction project next Monday, October 3rd
WAUKESHA — September 26, 2016 — HAWS, the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County, invites the public to celebrate the beginning of the organization’s latest facility expansion and renovation with a ceremonial groundbreaking Monday, October 3, 2016 at 3:30pm on the shelter grounds at 701 Northview Road, Waukesha.
“This construction project will better enable us to reach our goal of Building a No-Kill Community,” noted Executive Director Lynn Olenik. “We are excited to get started!”
Olenik continued: “HAWS’ outlined key areas of growth during our most recent strategic planning process. Those included the popularity of our education programs, the demand for spay-neuter services, the need for dog training classes and 1:1 consultations for dogs and cats, an increasingly high volume of animal rescue calls and the improvements in sheltering accommodations. HAWS will meet these needs for our community and continue to be the #1 resource for pets and their people.”
Everyone is welcome to attend the 3:30pm ceremony, which will be followed by refreshments and shelter tours highlighting the areas to be constructed.
HAWS continues to welcome donations not only to the building project but also those to ensure the organization’s vitality into the future. For details on general donations, program or ward sponsorships, or bequests and estate gifts, please contact HAWS at 262-542-8851 or log on to hawspets.org.
