Highway Q Detours Start In Early September In Waukesha County

Drivers are going to have to follow a new detour around Highway Q. Here's when, and why.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Drivers are going to have to follow a new detour around Highway Q as work is scheduled to begin on a new bridge over the Oconomowoc River.

Waukesha County officials say that roadway construction is set to begin on Tuesday, Sep. 4, 2018 on Highway Q at the bridge over the Oconomowoc River. The project includes bridge replacement and reconstruction of the bridge approaches. Construction is administered by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

The roadway at the bridge site will be closed to traffic during construction. Drivers are asked follow a posted detour via CTH E to CTH VV to STH 164.

Also closed during this project is the launch area for canoes and kayaks at the CTH Q bridge site on the Oconomowoc River.

Officials say the project is scheduled to be completed in early November 2018.
