Jake Patterson, 21, Wrote Letter About Jayme Closs: Report
A new report states that Patterson wrote about his time holding Jayme Closs as his prisoner, and his affections for her.

BARRON COUNTY, WI -- Jake Patterson, the 21-year-old Wisconsin man accused of abducting missing endangered teen Jayme Closs and shooting her parents in October 2018, has reportedly sent a letter from jail in which he drew hearts around Closs' name in addition to joking that he did "the worst thing a human can do."
Radar Online reported finding the letter, crediting Patterson as its author. According to the report, Patterson corresponded with an unidentified person from jail.
"It’s weird," Patterson wrote, according to Radar Online. "I went from never committing a crime or really doing anything bad to doing the worst thing a human can do. Just one big [mess] up ha ha."

Patterson continued in the letter, thanking his pen pal for writing, while also stating that he and his victim shared time in the kitchen, according to Radar Online. "Me and Jayme cooked a bunch of stuff. Cooking is another thing I like doing a lot. Well IDK, thanks for writing me again, it's a really good distraction and makes me a little less sad."

Authorities Reveal Why Jake Patterson Kidnapped Jayme Closs
According to a criminal complaint filed in Barron County and released to the public, Patterson confessed to the murders of James and Denise Closs and explained why he targeted their daughter, Jayme.
Patterson faces two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and a third charge of kidnapping. If convicted, Patterson faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Patterson is currently being held in the Barron County Jail on a $5 million cash bond. Patterson's next court appearance is a March 27 arraignment, according to official court records.
