Job Fairs To Address Waukesha County Lifeguard Shortage

Waukesha County is seeking at least 20 candidates to fill vacant lifeguard positions at Fox Brook, Menomonee, Muskego, and Naga-Waukee Parks

WAUKESHA, WI β€” Waukesha county officials say area parks and pools have a shortage of lifeguards, and that two upcoming job fairs hope to fill the ranks by the time the weather warms up.

Waukesha County Parks will host two recruitment fairs to fill seasonal vacancies for lifeguards on Wednesday, May 2 and Wednesday, May 9 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox Brook Park, 2925 N. Barker Rd, Brookfield.

Waukesha County is seeking at least 20 candidates to fill vacant lifeguard positions at Fox Brook, Menomonee, Muskego, and Naga-Waukee Parks. Flexible positions are open from late-spring through late-summer with options for 20 to 40 hours per week.

Candidates that have not completed lifeguard certification will receive free training as part of the hiring process. The sponsored lifeguard training session will be held mid-May for candidates that meet the minimum swimming requirements. Lifeguard pay starts at $9.79 per hour.

On-site staff at the recruitment fair will be ready to pre-screen candidates and assist with the application process.
