WAUKESHA, WI —Labor Day represents one of the busier weekends of the summer, if not the entire year, but for city and county governments, Labor Day is a chance to hit the pause button. Here are other notable closings in Waukesha:

Transportation

Waukesha Metro Transit will not operate any service on September 4th (Labor Day). Below is the complete Labor Day Weekend schedule:
Saturday September 2nd and Sunday September 3rd :
All services will operate as scheduled.

Monday September 4th (Labor Day):
The following services will not operate:
-Waukesha Metro bus or Metrolift service
-Wisconsin Coach Lines Routes 901,904,905 & 906
- Paratransit Parallel Corridor Service operated by Transit Express
-Milwaukee County Transit System Route 79
The MCTS Gold Line will operate a Sunday service schedule

The Waukesha Public Library will be closed on Labor Day.

Trash Pickup

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, there will be no garbage or recycling pickup at households on Monday, September 4th.

Normal Monday pickups will occur Tuesday. Normal Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday pickups will all be bumped one day later, including Saturday.

The City of Waukesha Drop-Off Center will be open normally scheduled hours on Saturday, September 2nd (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) and Wednesday, September 6th (11 a.m. - 7 p.m.)

All Waukesha County Household Hazardous Waste Collection sites will be closed on Saturday, September 2 and Monday, September 4 in observance of Labor Day.
