Looking for High School Students to Participate in Grant Program
UWM at Waukesha awarded grant funds for high school girls!

UWM at Waukesha has been awarded a $10,000 grant from The Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County. This new program, Beyond GEMS Leadership Certificate is an innovative program, free to Waukesha County high school female students, that will provide students with hands-on opportunities through networking mentorships and exposure to local industry. This access to the decision-makers in our communities will support young women and provide them with a strong portfolio for a future network.
This five-part program is aimed at Waukesha County female students, ages 15-18 years. The students will complete a leadership certificate program, connect with area business leaders for mentorship and job shadowing opportunities, develop an education plan that will fulfill their goals, learn coping mechanisms to deal with the stressors in their lives, and will enjoy being an active member for the GEMS Conference advisory and planning committee. This program is dedicated to helping female students be empowered.
Students will meet on UW-Milwaukee CGS at Waukesha campus, as well as virtually, approximately every other week from January 2022 – May 2022. Program participants will receive a UW-Milwaukee Waukesha Continuing Education Completion Certificate. At completion of program, participants and their family will be invited to graduation ceremony where certificates will be awarded.
