Milwaukee Brewers Conduct Second Trade, Send Pitcher Will Smith to Giants
The Milwaukee Brewers will look very different after trading Will Smith, today.

Will Smith Traded to the San Francisco Giants for Pitcher, Catcher
Brewers send left-handed relief pitcher Will Smith to the San Francisco Giants for minor leaguers Phil Bickford and Andrew Susac.
Phil Bickford is a 21-year-old righthander who was a first-round pick of the Giants in 2015. He was 2-2 in 33 innings pitched in the minors this year, advancing from A-ball to High-A by midseason. Bickford is said to have above-average command with his fastball that can hit the upper 90s, and is working on developing his slider and changeup into stronger secondary pitches.

Andrew Susac is a 26-year-old catcher who has spent the year at AAA. He had been blocked in San Franciso by starting catcher Buster Posey. He moves to the Brewers with a clear shot at playing time - if Jonathan Lucroy ends up being traded. Susac has hit .273/.342/.455 with eight homers and 36 RBI in 58 games with Triple-A Sacramento this season after averaging .218/.297/.368 over 148 plate appearances in the majors a year ago.
