Multiple Train Cars Derail In Pewaukee: Reports

No injuries were reported after the train derailed Saturday near Somerset Lane and Parkside Road in Pewaukee.

PEWAUKEE, WI — A Canadian Pacific cargo train derailed in Pewaukee early Saturday morning, sending several cars into a nearby pond, according to multiple reports.

The train derailment happened at Somerset Lane and Parkside Road shortly after 6:30 a.m., according to a report by Fox 6. The eastbound train was slowing to a stop when a boxcar left the tracks, causing one tanker car and at least seven other boxcars to derail.

Several of the boxcars slid into a nearby pond, according to a WISN report.

One boxcar was hauling lumber, Fox 6 reported. The other boxcars and tanker car were empty.

There were no reported injuries caused by the derailment, according to reports. Authorities also found no private property damage or negative environmental impacts.
