'My Mommy Was Murdered' Fund Set Up To Help Son
6-year-old Liam Voeks-Schmidt is the son of the woman who died in the Waukesha County murder-suicide. Liam was born without a right hand.

The family of Abigail Voeks, a 27-year-old woman who died in an apparent murder-suicide in Mukwonago, has set up a memorial fund in her son's honor to help him.
According to her obituary, Abigail Voeks, 27, was going to Nursing School. Her 6-year-old son Liam Voeks-Schmidt was the love of her life.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help 6-year-old Liam Voeks-Schmidt, the son of Abigail Voeks, who died in an apparent murder-suicide on Dec. 5.
Liam's godmother, Tammy Poplun, has set up a GoFundMe account to help Liam, who lost his mother on Dec. 5 in the murder-suicide case that police are continuing to investigate. According to Milwaukee NOW, Liam was born without his right hand due to amniotic band syndrome, which occurs when a fetus becomes entangled in fibrous string-like amniotic bands in the womb.

"This poor little guy already had a rough start in life when he was born without his right hand. He's worked hard, and continues to work hard to overcome those challenges, and he says he can do everything everyone else can," according to information posted on the family's GoFundMe page. According to the page, all funds gathered will go toward an educational fund for him or to pay for a prosthesis.
Man, Woman Found Dead
On Tuesday Dec. 5, the Town of Mukwonago Police Department asked the Waukesha County Sheriff's department to check on a woman who failed to return to her apartment.
According to sheriff's officials, at 5:35 p.m., deputies fulfilled the request, and responded to an address at the Meadowbrook Village Condo Complex where she was last believed to be.
Waukesha County Sheriff's Office identified the two that were located at the Meadowbrook Village Condo Complex in the City of Pewaukee. The woman was identified as Abigail Voeks, a 27-year-old woman from Mukwonago. The man was identified as Zakoree Mitschke, a 30-year-old man from Pewaukee.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, December 16th from 12 NOON until 2:00 PM at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Mukwonago (930 Main St.)
