New Berlin Rotarians to to spruce up Weatherstone Park on Nov. 12

Another community service project, this one involves removing buckthorn from the park. General public is invited to participate.

Members of Rotary Club of New Berlin will don work gloves for a good cause on Saturday, Nov. 12. Working alongside residents of the Weatherstone subdivision, Rotarians will remove buckthorn (an invasive species) and perform other tasks as needed. This is the 4th consecutive year of assisting with the buckthorn removal.

Rotarians will be working at the park, located at 13301 W. Linfield Dr., New Berlin, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. You’ll spot them wearing their “Rotarian At Work” safety vests. Feel free to stop by and say hello.

The public is welcome to help out. Be sure to dress appropriately, including strong shoes or work boots and work gloves. If you have a pair of loppers or similar tools for cutting brush, feel free to bring those along. If not, that's OK. Weatherstone volunteers supply the tools needed. We’ll meet at the shelter at 9:00 a.m., and proceed from there.
