
Carmen Benedict of Pewaukee, formerly of Louisville, KY, passed away, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Waukesha Springs at the age of 83 years. Carmen was born in Milwaukee on January 31, 1930, daughter of Clyde and Helen (Sommers) Haberman. Carmen will always be remembered as a person of great warmth, humor, compassion and wisdom. An avid reader, she enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo, where she usually won.
Carmen will be dearly missed by her children, Bob (Mary) Benedict, Greg Benedict, and Karen (Bob) Ainsworth; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason), Aaron, Julie, Amey, Holly, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, London, and Alicia; sisters, Nancy (Don) Hanna; brothers, Tom (Gail) Haberman, and Clyde (Beverly) Haberman; and sister-in-law, Gina Haberman; lifelong friends, Arline O’Brien and Shirley Penn. Carmen is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends at the Silvernail Senior Residence. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Heather, parents, sister, Marilyn Leupold, and brothers, James Haberman and Charles Haberman.
Private family graveside services will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions in honor of Carmen may be directed to the Autism Treatment Center of America, 2080 S. Undermountain Road, Sheffield, MA 01257.
