Obituary: Carol Behrendt

Waukesha woman dies at age 71.

Carol Behrendt, of Waukesha, died on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 71.

She was born in Chicago on Dec. 25, 1940, the daughter of Richard and Sylvia (nee Pitra) Scholtens. On May 29, 1965, she married Arthur “Bart” Behrendt.  In 1980 Carol and Bart moved to Waukesha.  She was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church for the past 31 years where she was involved with St. Mary’s Christian Women.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Arthur “Bart” of Waukesha and their twelve children, Mary Carol (Albert) Cowsky of Libertyville, IL, Mark (Julie) Behrendt of Chandler, AZ, Maureen Behrendt of Waukesha, Janet (Jason) Wallenfang of Lindenhurst, IL, Karen (Steven) Maye of Wonderlake, IL, Michael (Kerry) Behrendt of New Berlin, Margaret (Korey) Platteter of Holmen, Gregory Behrendt of Waukesha, Maria (Jason) McKellips of Oconomowoc, John (Kaytie) Behrendt of Waukesha, Matthew Behrendt of Waukesha and Katherine Behrendt of Franklin and she was the proud grandmother of 21 grandchildren.  She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, Robert (Diana) Scholtens of San Marten, CA, Richard Scholtens of MN, Virginia (Dennis) Johnson of Rolling Meadows, IL, Marion Ruzek of Jeffersonville, IN, John (Jane Davis) Scholtens of Oak Park, IL, Susan (Bill) DuBose of Glen Ellyn, IL and Thomas (Cindy) Scholtens of Berwyn, IL along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. funeral Mass all at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Avenue, Waukesha.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the charity of the donor’s choice.
