Obituary: Edgar F. “Bud” Barnhill

Waukesha man served in Korean and Vietnam wars with the Navy.

Edgar F. “Bud” Barnhill, of Waukesha, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Waukesha Springs at the age of 77.

He was born on April 22, 1934, in Illinois, the son of James and Myrtle (nee Bahl) Barnhill. On June 4, 1960, he married the former Rita Getzloff in Bark River, MI. Bud proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 10 years serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars. The military was a very important part of Bud’s life.  He worked for RTE Cooper for more than 30 years. 

He will be sadly missed by his wife Rita of Waukesha, along with their sons Thomas (Maria) Barnhill of Lake Geneva, Nathan (Suzanne) Barnhill of Pelham, NH and Andrew (Misty) Barnhill of Watertown.  Proud grandfather of Amanda, Mitchell, Alexander, Bethany, Sonnie, Katie and Michael.  He is further survived by other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 13, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A second visitation will take place at the Wisconsin Memorial Park Family Center Chapel, 12875 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield on Saturday, Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service. Graveside services will follow with Full Military Honors.
