
Elaine V. Dobbertin (nee Severson), of Hartland, was born to eternal life on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the age of 93 years. Elaine was born in Blanchardville, WI on August 24, 1919, daughter of Theodore and Amy Severson. Elaine received a degree in nursing and served in the South Pacific during World War II. She married David Dobbertin on August 30, 1947, and they worked side by side on their dairy farm for over 30 years. Elaine went back to working as an RN for 25 years at an area nursing home. She enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching, and spending time with her precious grandkids and great-grandkids. Elaine was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Merton. She will always be remembered for her compassionate love for others and for living the life of a Proverbs 31 woman.
Elaine will be dearly missed by her children, Donna (Charles) Leamon, Philip Dobbertin, Laura (Gerald) Meissner, Mark (Anna) Dobbertin, and Dean (Viki) Dobbertin; grandchildren, Amy Leamon, Paul (Sarah) Leamon, Anna (Steven) Baker, Aaron (Corinne) Meissner, Jessica (Tate) Dillow, Andrew (Elaine) Meissner, William Meissner, Matthew Dobbertin, Stephen Dobbertin, Abigail Dobbertin, Caleb Dobbertin, Esther Dobbertin, Darcy (Jose) Figueroa, David (Tricia) Dobbertin, Geneva (Lucas) Enge, and Mark (Alexandra Bell) Dobbertin; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Hatfield; brothers, Robert Severson and Donald (MaryAnn) Severson; sisters-in-law, Mary Sprouse and Carol Severson. Elaine is further survived by other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, David; parents; brothers, Glenn, Sanford, Leroy, and Tilman; sisters, Dorothy and Carol; and great-granddaughter, Molly.
