Obituary: Gladys M. Brisk
Waukesha woman was very proud that her father, being the manager of Manitowoc Church Furniture Company, built the original church furniture for St. Luke's Lutheran Church.

Gladys M. Brisk, lifelong Waukesha resident, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Seasonβs Hospice at the age of 95.
She was born in Waukesha on Aug. 1, 1916, the daughter of Benjamin and Martha (nee Albrecht) Torrison. On June 26, 1939 she married her beloved husband Clyde W. Brisk; he preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2000.Β Gladys was a faithful charter member of St. Lukeβs Lutheran Church. She was very proud that her father, being the manager of Manitowoc Church Furniture Company, built the original church furniture for St. Lukeβs Lutheran Church. The beautiful altar and furnishings remain in the small chapel of the church today. Gladys loved to cook and bake and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Β
She is loved and will be sadly missed by her sons: David (Gerry) Brisk and Thomas (Martha) Brisk both of Waukesha. She was the proud grandmother of Lee (Cathy) Brisk of Waukesha, Gina Brisk of Dousman, Ben Brisk, Becky Brisk and Brian (Claudia) Brisk all of Waukesha and great-grandmother of Alison Brisk, Tara and Cole Britten, KatieΒ Brisk and Landon Brisk.Β She is further survived by her sister Ernestine Wegner of Brookfield, her brother Benjamin (Nina) Torrison of Bradenton, FL along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Β In addition to her husband Clyde and her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Sigrid Abbott, brother-in-law William βOgdenβ Wegner, sister-in-law Jean Carl βCullyβ Mundt, and brother-in-law Richard (MaryAnn) Brisk.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha.Β Visitation continues on Wednesday, April 11 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at St. Lukeβs Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha, WI 53186. Entombment will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to St. Lukeβs Lutheran Church (address above).
