Obituary: Irene Gertrude Huebner (nee Hamp)

Irene Gertrude Huebner (nee Hamp), of Waukesha, passed away peacefully at LindenGrove of Waukesha on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at the age of 98 years.

Irene was born in Waukesha on Nov. 18, 1913, the daughter of William and Amelia (nee Ludke) Hamp. She was an avid card player and loved to go out to eat with friends and family.  Irene was a lifetime member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha. She loved to cook and was an excellent baker. Irene was a devoted member of the Sunnyslope School Board for many years.

Irene will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and other friends and family. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W.; her son, Carl D.; her brother, William Hamp; her sisters, Viola Highley, Sophie Panawash and Dorothy Huebner; and many other family and friends.

A visitation for Irene will be from 10:30 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. funeral service on Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Reverend Larry Smith will officiate the service. Burial will immediately follow the service at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Pewaukee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Irene are appreciated by the family to the charity of the donor’s choice.
