Obituary: James W. “Jim” Nowell

Delafield man passed away at age 82.

James W. “Jim” Nowell, of Delafield, surrounded by family, died on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 82 years.

Jim was born in Milwaukee on Oct. 24, 1930, the son of Harris and Mary Nowell.  He married Marjorie Bamrick on Dec. 29, 1962. 

Jim graduated from Marquette University with degrees in Economics and Philosophy.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  Jim took great pride in his sales and marketing work. Through the years he enjoyed working for companies such as Kodak, Polaroid, Krones and Treck. Jim also served as a director of the Pewaukee Park and Recreation, and was a board member for the 40s+ organization.  He was a longtime member of St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church.  Jim took to the sky as an avid pilot flying his J-3 Cub. He also enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing and photography.  Jim’s valued spending time with his wife and family.

Jim will be missed by his wife of 50 years, Marge; children, Michael Nowell of Delafield, Jenna (Jerry) Huggett of Waukesha, and Sue (Tim) Deaton of Waterford; grandchildren, Austin, Jordan, Ali, Sam, Caitlin, Natalie and Max. Jim is further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

The visitation for Jim will be held from noon until the time of the Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, W280 N2101 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee, WI 53072. Full Military Honors will immediately follow the mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church “Give From Your Heart Campaign” (See address above). Private family burial will be held at Forest Home Cemetery.
