The Owner Of Albanese's Roadhouse In Waukesha Has Died

Dominic Albanese was remembered for his life with family, his Waukesha business, and the "laughs along the way."

WAUKESHA, WI β€” Dominic Albanese, the owner of Albanese's Roadhouse in Waukesha, has died, the restaraunt announced in a recent Facebook post.

Albanese died Sunday at age 91, The Waukesha Freeman reported. The restaraunt announced the death on Tuesday "with heavy hearts."

"Dominic was fortunate to lead a long wonderful life with a loving family, strong business, many friends and a lot of laughs along the way," the restaraunt wrote in its Facebook post. "As his soul ascends to heaven, he will reunite with his love Elaine."

Comments flooded the Facebook post mourning the death of Albanese.

The longtime family business, now located at 2301 West Bluemound Road, was first opened in the 1940s and passed down through the Albanese family for generations, according to its website.

The spot is known for its Italian dishes and its house wine recipe.

Lori Syverson, Dominic's daughter, told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that her dad "loved what he did, but at the same time, put family first."

Joey Albanese, Dominic's son, told the newspaper his father "would come down" and say "you don't close" if he ever planned on shutting the restaraunt down.
