Pedestrian Hit, Killed By Train In Waukesha: Police

Police are asking Waukesha motorists to avoid specific intersections as the investigation continues.

WAUKESHA, WI — A pedestrian was killed Saturday when he was struck by a train in the area of West Moreland Boulevard in Waukesha, according to police.

Just before 11 a.m., Waukesha police received multiple calls that a Wisconsin Southern Railroad train had struck a man on the tracks. The man was pronounced dead when authorities arrived, police said.

Police have not yet released the name of the victim; however, he was not a railroad employee, police said.

Meanwhile, area residents are being asked to avoid the intersections of Whiterock Avenue and Moreland as well as Whiterock and Perkins avenues. Both will remain closed through Saturday afternoon.
