Police Investigating 2 Fatal Shootings Labor Day Weekend

Two Sunday shootings leave two dead; Milwaukee police may have suspect in one of the cases

MILWAUKEE -- Police are investigating two fatal shootings in Milwaukee over the last 48 hours in a deadly Labor Day weekend.

Police are investigating an apparent homicide in which a 61-year-old man was shot in the neighborhood of Hopkins and Burleigh around 6:45 p.m. Sunday.

According to a report by CBS 58, despite life saving efforts on scene, he died from his injuries. Milwaukee Police say they have identified a person of interest, and are still investigating what led up to the shooting.

According to a report from FOX 6,The shooting happened Sunday, September 4th near 70th and Melvina. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday, September 5th.
