Queen of Apostles Catholic Church Celebrates 25th Anniversary
Pewaukee Church Marked its Anniversary with a Celebration, Mass, and Parish-wide Picnic on July 10, 2022

Queen of Apostles Catholic Church in Pewaukee marked its 25th anniversary with a celebration on July 10, 2022. Archbishop Jerome Listecki presided over a mass, followed by a parish-wide picnic.
Queen of Apostles came into existence on July 1, 1997, formed by the successful merger of the former St. Mary’s Parish and the former Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, both of Pewaukee. The name “Queen of Apostles” was selected from a list of potential names recommended by parishioners of both parishes. Twenty-five years later, Queen of Apostles is a thriving faith community known for their welcoming manner and fellowship.
Fr. Charles Hanel, pastor of Queen of Apostles, said, “As grateful as we are for the last 25 years, this event is more than a celebration of the past. It is also a promise for the future as we recommit ourselves to growing in discipleship of Jesus and inviting others to join the journey.”

Queen of Apostles Church is one of the area's largest houses of worship, but the numbers only tell part of the story. The parish's small-town roots and rich history keep that close-knit community feel among a large gathering of parishioners. While the current church was built in 1999, its spiritual cornerstone was laid in the mid-1800s.
“Who we are today has been influenced by over 150 years of growth, beginning with our roots in the parishes of Sts. Peter and Paul and St. Mary. Our two Pewaukee congregations became one to better serve our faith community and provide more opportunities in ministry, outreach, and stewardship. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we came together as a prayerful community with common Catholic values and mission, and continue to grow in closeness to God,” continued Fr. Hanel.
