Schools Closed In Waukesha Monday Following Parade Tragedy

Classes are canceled at all School District of Waukesha buildings Monday, Superintendent Dr. James Sebert said Sunday night.

WAUKESHA, WI — Classes are canceled at all School District of Waukesha buildings Monday, Superintendent Dr. James Sebert said Sunday night.

Waukesha Police are investigating after a red SUV drove through the Waukesha Christmas parade Sunday afternoon, injuring more than 20 people and killing several; police have not released information on the deceased yet. Police have someone in custody.

"Our thoughts are with everyone impacted, with all who witnessed the event, and with our entire community," Sebert wrote in an email.

Sebert said the district will make a decision Monday on if school should also be canceled Tuesday.
