Special Deer Hunt Announced For Nashotah Park

The park will remain open for all non-hunting recreational use during the special hunt. Here's when the hunt will take place:

WAUKESHA, WI – In a continued effort to reduce the deer population in Nashotah Park, Waukesha County will open a limited archery hunt for the third year within the park to hunters that are licensed and have deer harvest authorization through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

Officials say that an overabundant deer population is preventing native plants and seedlings from regenerating in the park. The hunt will also assist in controlling the deer herd to allow for an adequate food source to sustain their population, and increase habitat for other wildlife in the park.

The special archery hunt will take place from Nov. 27 through Dec. 17, 2019 in Nashotah Park, located at W330 N5113 County Highway C, officials said.
