TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Moving Company Seeking Donation Sites for Annual Movers for Moms® Donation Drive
Local company looking for businesses in Waukesha County to volunteer for Mother's Day campaign to help victims of domestic violence.
Since 2012, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has hosted the Movers for Moms® donation drive. The drive focuses on collecting essential care items to make shelter life easier for moms who are also victims of domestic violence. The company is currently looking for local businesses in both Waukesha and Jefferson counties to volunteer as a location that the public can bring donations to.
Last year, 15 local donation sites collected more than 1,500 items such as toothpaste, shampoo, diapers, gift cards and more that were put to immediate use by the shelters.
The moving company will coordinate the collection box drop-off as well as the pick-up and delivery of donations. Items will benefit the Hebron House of Hospitality, Safe Babies Healthy Families of Easter Seals Southeast Wisconsin, and The Women's Center of Waukesha. There is no cost for a business to participate in the campaign. Once donation sites are in place, the public will drop off items from April 10 through May 12. All donations will be delivered to the shelters by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK employees over Mother's Day weekend.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchises across the country take part in the campaign because so many women struggle with domestic violence. Disturbing statistics from The National Alliance to End Homelessness report that domestic violence is the immediate cause of homelessness for many women, and 92 percent of homeless women had experienced severe physical or sexual assault at some point in their lives.
