Volunteer to Make a Difference in the Financial Lives of the Community

Get trained and certified to prepare taxes for low-income families

Help low income families and individuals receive all the tax credits they are eligible for as a volunteer tax preparer in La Casa de Esperanza’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Spanish speaking is NOT required. Many of these households desperately need their refunds to continue utilities, pay medical bills, and cover other critical basic needs. In the 2015 season La Casa’s VITA program was able to prepare over 1,500 returns with an average savings of $1,924 per client. Join the VITA team today and contribute to this much needed service to low income households.

Volunteers have a responsibility to provide free high quality tax preparation services for eligible taxpayers by establishing the greatest degree of public trust and upholding the highest ethical standards. All VITA volunteers become IRS-Certified. La Casa offers free training and our staff will be on hand to guide you at all times.

Get in touch with us today! Email VITA Site Coordinator Gabriella at gallen@lacasadeesperanza.org or call at (262)832-1534 for more information.
