WAUKESHA, WI — Across the United States, people will be celebrating Memorial Day on Monday, a national holiday to honor those who died in active military service.
Although it's a national holiday, some retail businesses around the city will be open. But it's always idea to call ahead and check.

Here's a look at how Memorial Day will affect institutions and services around Waukesha:
City Government: On Memorial Day, City offices will be closed. Many City services can be accessed online.

Schools: No classes for the Waukesha School District
Waukesha Public Library: The library will be closed. The outside book return will be open.
Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.
Trash Pickup:
Memorial Day also impacts garbage/recycling collection. Collections will be one day later next week.
