Waukesha Parade Route Changes for 2016
Due to road construction, Waukesha's parade route will travel through the city differently in 2016.

WAUKESHA - Waukesha Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department presents the 2016 Independence Day Activities. The event takes place on Monday, July 4th, and this year's theme is "Here's to 90 Years", celebrating 90 years of Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department in Waukesha. The festivities take place in Cutler Park, 321 Wisconsin Avenue, with the following schedule.
- 10 a.m. - Line-Up in the area of Cutler Park
- 11 a.m. - Parade begins
Parade Route Changes
The Waukesha Parade, which will be held on Mon., July 4, 2016 will move to the traditional route down Main St. due to the completion of road construction in the area.
The 2016 parade route begins at the corner of Wisconsin Ave. and Maple Ave. at Cutler Park, traveling west on Wisconsin, north onto West, east onto Main St., proceeding on Main St., east to Buckley St., north to Baxter St. to the Schuetze Recreation Center, 1120 Baxter St.

Participation
Children will have an opportunity to participate in the parade by decorating their bikes, trikes, buggies, wagons, and themselves! Children and their parents can line up in Cutler Park beginning at 10:00 am. Bike helmets are strongly recommended. Groups and families are encouraged to enter floats in the parade that reflect the theme "Here's to 90 Years" and meet the minimum standards. Deadline to register is Friday, June 3, 2016.

Free Ice Cream
There is free ice cream available for children in the parade distributed by Waukesha Kiwanis Early Risers at Schuetze Recreation Center at conclusion of Parade.
Fireworks
The Independence Day celebration concludes with a bang! Bring your blankets and chairs to the Waukesha County Expo Center: 1000 Northview Road Waukesha, WI 53188.

- Presented by Woodman's Markets
Grounds will open at 7 p.m. with the show beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m. Due to the extensive ground show, the fireworks are best viewed from the Expo grounds.
Rain Date
In the event of rain, this portion of the even will be rescheduled for July 5.
Rules
Please note: Pets, carry-in fireworks (including sparklers), and alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
