Waukesha Woman, Hales Corners Man Dead After 2 Accidents on I-94

67-year-old Waukesha woman dies in Town of Delafield Crash. 54-year-old Hales Corners man dies on the road in Lake County, Illinois.

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- A Waukesha woman has died and another was seriously injured when the vehicle they were driving suffered a head-on collision in the Town of Delafield Tuesday night.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's office, police and rescue were called to the scene of a 2-vehicle accident at I-94 and Prospect Rd. in the Town of Delafield at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a Sheriff's report, a vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic heading eastbound and struck the vehicle head-on.

Police say the driver of that vehicle was an 18-year-old woman from Waukesha.

The 18-year-old woman was transported via Flight for Life to the hospital with serious injuries.

The passenger in that vehicle, a 67-year-old woman from Waukesha, was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Hales Corners Man Dies in Illinois Crash

A 54-year-old man from Hales Corners has died after a reported accident on I-94 in Lake County, Illinois.

According to information released by the Lake County Sheriff's department, deputies responded to Russell Road and I-94, for a traffic crash with serious injuries just after 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

Preliminary investigation shows a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 54 year-old man of Hales Corners, Wisconsin, was traveling on eastbound I-94. The driver of the Chevrolet exited I-94 on the off-ramp for Russell Road.

Upon coming to the stop sign at Russell Road, the driver of the Chevrolet failed to yield to a westbound 2005 Kenworth Semi-Truck, driven by a 50 year-old man of Mundelein. The Chevrolet drove partially underneath the trailer of the Kenworth and sustained significant damage.

The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to Saint Catherine’s Medical Center in Kenosha with critical injuries. He was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at Saint Catherine’s. The driver of the Kenworth was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
