Wisconsin USO Honors Eaton with “Military Ready Workplace" award

WAUKESHA – Eaton Corporation has been named the 2022 winner of the Wisconsin USO “Military Ready Workplace Award.” The honor recognizes a company that demonstrates initiatives to hire and retain employees transitioning from the military, and inspires other companies to join their efforts in supporting Veterans.

“Eaton is honored to be recognized for our efforts to recruit and support military veterans and their families,” said Guillaume Laur, Eaton’s senior vice president, general manager. “We have more than 1,000 veterans who have transitioned to civilian jobs at Eaton, and more than 8,000 employees who are part of Veterans employee resource groups. Many veterans who transitioned from military to civilian jobs say our culture at Eaton has made the difference.”

Like all Eaton locations, the Power System Division Headquarters in Waukesha has an active Inclusion Employee Resource Group (IERG) for Veterans and allies of Veterans. The Waukesha IERG members volunteer in the local community, with a dedicated volunteer day every October, featuring engagements with local VA hospitals, Veterans Shelters, and other Veteran interests. The company also provides mandatory training for their talent acquisition team to understand military culture, skills translation, and Veterans value to the company. Eaton offers Veterans tuition assistance and other financial support toward the preparation, attainment or maintenance of academic and professional certificates, degrees, or other credentials. The company offers apprenticeships, internships, and other formalized training programs to assist with attainment of civilian credentials.

Representatives from the Power System Division Headquarters in Waukesha will accept the award at the Wisconsin USO’s annual Heroes of Wisconsin Salute at the Milwaukee War Memorial Center on Nov. 4. Tickets are available online at https://wi.uso.org/events/71
