Woman Arrested in Waukesha State Bank Robbery Case
A female subject, whom authorities believe was Melissa Kay Monreal, entered the bank and demanded money from a teller with a note.

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha police have made an arrest in the Waukesha State Bank robbery that took place earlier this week.
Waukesha police are recommending the charge of Robbery of a Financial Institution after Melissa Kay Monreal, 36, was arrested in connection with the robbery. She is currently being held in the Waukesha County Jail.
According to police, officers responded to a robbery at 151 E St Paul Ave. on Dec. 13 – Waukesha State Bank. A female subject, whom authorities believe was Monreal, entered the bank and demanded money from a teller with a note. No weapons were implied or displayed.

Police say Monreal obtained an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing from the bank in an unknown direction. Police stated there were no injuries as a result of this robbery.
Monreal had been previously charged with Robbery with Use of Force for a December 2006 incident.

In a written statement provided to Patch.com, Waukesha police extended their gratitude for citizen and media assistance leading to the arrest: "We would like to thank the media outlets and moreover the citizens that provided information that led to the arrest of the suspect. Furthermore, the assistance we received from our partners at the Milwaukee Police Department while taking her into custody in the City of Milwaukee was invaluable. Their professionalism was appreciated."
