Woman's Club of Pewaukee donates record $16,750 to area causes

Woman's Club of Pewaukee distributes record amount of grants to local charities

PEWAUKEE, WI - The Woman’s Club of Pewaukee announced it has distributed a record total of grants in 2017.

The Club approved $16,750 in grants to 20 charities in the Pewaukee area during its annual meeting on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the Country Springs Hotel. The total exceeds last year's distribution mark by more than $1,000.

"I know the efforts of our members will make an impact on organizations working in the greater Pewaukee area to help women and children better their lives, improve our environment, support the arts and education and help civic organizations," said Sue Goldstone, past president. "I am very proud of each of our 67 members of the Woman’s Club of Pewaukee and their work, which allowed us to make $16,750 in grants for 2017. This is a record for our club."

Grant recipients are: Bell Tower Memorial, Blessings in a Backpack, Donna Lexa Art Centers, Friends of the Parks-July 4 Fireworks Fund, Lake Pewaukee Sanitary District, Lifestriders, Parents Place, Pewaukee Area Arts Council, Pewaukee Area Historical Society, Pewaukee Food Pantry, Pewaukee Public Library, Pewaukee River Partnership, Positively Pewaukee, Safe Babies Healthy Families-Easter Seals of Wisconsin, Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, The Women's Center, Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic, Wildlife in Need, Wisconsin Leadership Seminars, and Women's Club of Pewaukee - Pewaukee High School Scholarship Fund.

Along with the distribution of funds, the Club held its annual election and installation of new officers. Ella Dzioba, president; Kathleen Novack, president elect; Pat Gallagher, treasurer; Joy Cony, recording secretary; Barb Butler, corresponding secretary; Abby Lorenz, director; Deb Bayee, director; and Sue Goldstone, past president.

Membership in the Woman's Club of Pewaukee is open to all women. The club will be hosting a new member tea on Thursday, August 3, at 11:30 a.m. at the Pewaukee Historical Society, 206 E. Wisconsin Ave., Pewaukee. Contact Dzioba at anewella@yahoo.com for more information.
