• Impressive fourth-quarter showing isn't enough to secure a Hornet win on Homecoming (wausharaargus.com) — Wautoma football fans saw a late surge on Homecoming, but the Hornets ultimately fell 42–21 to Wisconsin Dells despite two fourth-quarter touchdowns. The loss drops Wautoma to 1–5 overall and 0–4 in conference play. The team now looks to rebound on the road at Waupun this Friday, October 2.
   

• Chris Kentopp (wausharaargus.com) — Family, friends, and former coworkers in Redgranite and Wautoma are mourning 64-year-old Chris Edward Kentopp, a welder and classic car enthusiast who worked at O'Reilly Auto Parts in Wautoma. Visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday morning, October 1, at Ruminski Funeral Home in Redgranite, followed by burial at Redgranite Foster Road Cemetery. Memorials are welcomed in his memory.
