11 Armed Robberies In 1 Week: Man Faces 275 Years Prison

Police have arrested a man accused of staging armed robberies in Milwaukee, Glendale, Greenfield, West Allis and Wauwatosa.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — A 53-year-old man who has been accused of staging 11 armed robberies in the Milwaukee area has been arrested and charged.

Authorities issued a press release on Aug. 8 after 10 of the 11 armed robberies took place within the span of a week. Later that day, a perorn called police and identified the suspect as Raymon Lewis of the 2700 block of N. 37th St.

Raymon Lewis is reported to have conducted armed robberies at 11 locations and attempted at three more in Milwaukee, Greenfield, Wauwatosa, Glendale and West Allis. If convicted, he faces up to 275 years behind bars.

In most cases, Lewis implied a fake weapon and demanded money while threatening to shoot clerks at a variety of businesses. In many cases, he immediately went to buy drugs including crack cocaine, his criminal complaint stated.

May 19: Mobil Gas Station in West Allis on S. 108th St.: According to his criminal complaint, he stated he committed the Robbery when he got off work that night. He stated he implied that he had a gun and stated "give me the money". Lewis stated he did threaten the employee, and stated believes he only got a $180 dollars for this robbery

Aug. 1: Colectivo Coffee in Milwaukee on Humboldt.: Lewis stated he was high on crack, and that he faked like he had a weapon. He stated he told the employee to give him the money or he would have been shot. Lewis stated he received about $150, according to the criminal complaint.

Aug. 4: Walgreens in Greenfield on S. 108th St.: According to his criminal complaint, he used a blue van to conduct the robbery. He implied that he had a gun to the clerk and made off with $170.

Aug. 5: Walgreens in Milwaukee on W. North Ave.: Lewis told police he waited for the Walgreens to open, went up to a clerk and told her to give him all the money or he was going to kill her. He told police he bought crack from the money obtained from this incident according to his criminal complaint.

Aug. 5: Hayat Pharmacy in Milwaukee, on W. Vliet St.: According to his criminal complaint, he went into the store and asked for change, and threatened to shoot the clerk. He got $100 from this incident, and went to buy more dope.

Aug. 5: Fresh Thyme Market in Milwaukee on E. Pleasant St. He went into the store, and pretended to be armed. The clerk didn't believe him, and he left without getting any money according to his criminal complaint.

Aug. 5: Mobil Gas Station in West Allis on S. 108th St.: According to his criminal complaint, he lifted up his shirt to display a weapon to the clerk and demanded money. He did not remember how much he made off with.

Aug. 5: CVS Pharmacy in Milwaukee on n. Farwell Ave. He was waiting in line at the CVS when he told the clerk to give him money or he would shoot her. He used the money for crack cocaine according to the criminal complaint.

Aug. 6: Walgreens in Milwaukee on Brady St.: According to his criminal complaint, Lewis said he attempted to rob the store, but the female clerk did not believe him. He left the property without anything.

Aug. 6: BP Gas Station in Glendale on N. Port Washington Rd. Lewis threatened to "blow a female clerk's brains" if she did not give him money. She gave him cigarettes, and $150 and ordered her not to pull the alarm. He used this money to buy crack, according to the criminal complaint.

Aug. 6: Jen's Beverage in Greenfield on W. Howard Ave. According to the criminal complaint, he was at the liquor store when he saw a woman's keys on the ground, so he picked them up. The woman demanded to know what he was doing, but he kept going and managed to steal her car.

Aug. 7: Shell Gas Station in Milwaukee on E. Layton Ave. He drove to the gas station that he stole at Jen's Beverage and went to buy a lighter at the counter. He threatened the clerk with a fake gun and made off with about $200. He told police he did not pull out the firearm from his waistband and went to buy more drugs after this incident.

Aug. 7: Walgreens in Milwaukee on W. National Ave. He went to McDonald's to eat, then to the nearby Walgreens where he bought a white Reese's Pieces cup. He threatened to shoot the clerk if he did not get money. He showed the clerk his fake gun and made off with money. He threw the tracking device out the window on N. 27th St. And W. Cherry St. as he fled, according to his criminal complaint.

Aug. 7: Citgo Gas Station in Glendale on N. Port Washington Rd.: According to his criminal complaint, Lewis committed this robbery with an accomplice. He tried getting money from the clerk at the register while the accomplice was the vehicle driver.

Aug. 7: Milk 'n Honey in Wauwatosa on W. Capitol Drive. Again with his accomplice, Lewis stated he went up to the register and asked for change. He lifted up his shirt and implied a weapon. the cashier opened the register and put the money in a paper bag, then pushed the panic alarm button. Lewis said he got $150 and split it with the accomplice.
