Police Identify 56-Year-Old Woman Killed In Wauwatosa

A 56-year-old woman died Wednesday morning after police say she was struck by a vehicle while she was walking. Police have identified her.

WAUWATOSA, WI — A 56-year-old woman died Wednesday morning after police say she was walking in Wauwatosa when she was struck by a vehicle.

Milwaukee police identified her as Laurie Strothenke, a recent physical therapist at St. Camillus.

According to a FOX6 report, Strothenke was walking in the area of the 10000 block of W. Bluemound Rd. early Wednesday when she was struck by a vehicle driven by a 72-year-old man. Strothenke was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Authorities have not released the identity of the man involved in the accident.

Police closed eastbound traffic on Bluemound Rd. were closed between 103rd St. and 98th St. as a result of the crash.
