The additional funding would help Autism United of Wisconsin offset helpline costs, support Wisconsin's only bilingual Spanish autism helpline and expand First Responder Training, allowing more families to access critical resources and support.

For 50 years, Autism United of Wisconsin has provided help, healing and hope to children, teens and adults on the autism spectrum and their families. As the state's largest autism service organization, Autism United offers programs, services and resources designed to improve quality of life, build skills and create brighter futures.

That mission has long resonated with Unisource Insurance Associates, which has supported Autism United for more than a decade through sponsorships, fundraising, volunteerism, board service and public advocacy. Over the years, the agency has raised more than $125,000 in sponsorship support, including funding for the organization's annual walk, gala sponsorships and matching campaigns, while employees have also participated in events throughout the year.

For Unisource Principal Andrea Nelson, the partnership is deeply personal. Nelson's daughter was diagnosed with autism at age 4, and Autism United was the only resource available to their family in southeast Wisconsin at the time.

"Autism United was there for our family when we needed guidance, support, and connection," said Nelson. "We've received so much over the years, and supporting this organization is one way we can give back and help other families find the same hope and resources."

Beyond fundraising and volunteer support, Unisource helps amplify Autism United's mission through its website, blog, social media channels and client communications, connecting more families with the organization and the resources it provides.

For the Unisource Insurance Associates team, supporting Autism United means helping more people on the autism spectrum and their families find the resources, confidence and care they need to thrive.

"Recognizing independent agents' dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about," said Marco Briceno, Senior Territory Manager, Liberty Mutual Insurance. "Unisource Insurance Associates' commitment to Autism United of Wisconsin demonstrates the meaningful difference local businesses can make in helping people on the autism spectrum and their families access critical resources, support and connection."

Throughout 2026, Liberty Mutual Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications that highlight their commitment to a specific cause.
