Apartment Fire Causes $40,000 in Damage, No Injuries.
Cause under investigation but believed to be accidental in nature and possibly caused by improper use of a lighter.

WAUWATOSA - An apartment fire at an 8-unit structure in the village caused approximately $40,000 in damage. Officials say there were no injuries as a result of the fire.

A call came in for the building at 2429 N. 111th St., around 8:35 p.m., according to a news release from the department. Police arrived on-scene and assisted with safely removing apartment residents, the release said.

Fire crews quickly determined the fire was located in the bedroom of a first floor apartment and extinguished the fire, according to the release. All apartments were searched and it was determined all occupants were removed without injury.
The exact cause is still under investigation but believed to be accidental in nature and possibly caused by improper use of a lighter.
