Bites Nearby: Tasty Sandwiches Near the Zoo

Having difficulty deciding where to grab a bite to eat in Wauwatosa? Don't know where to turn for a real good pub hamburger, a scrumptious sub sandwich or a fantastic pizza? Located across from the Milwaukee County Zoo, strives to be different by delivering sandwich orders locally, no matter if it's for lunch, dinner or a late evening snack.

Milio's makes its sandwiches from fresh-baked bread, not more than four hours old. The vegetables also are fresh from local suppliers – not from across the country.

Guests can carry out orders, eat inside or have food delivered.

A few favorites on the menu include a Mediterranean Trio, Gourmet Ham and Cheese Combo, Big Steer, Italian Club and a Roast Beef and Cheese Combo. Millio's also offers a “skinny sub,” which are like the sandwich shop's super subs, but without vegetables or sauces. Guests can order a Skinny Longhorn, a Skinny Godfather, a Skinny Chicken or a Skinny Charlie.

For sides, the sub shop serves chips, pickles, homemade cookies and a variety of beverages.
