Saunders, manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is ready to welcome world-famous tenor Tito Merelli for a one-night-only performance. But when the singer arrives late and accidentally takes a double dose of tranquilizers, he passes out cold.

Believing he’s dead, Saunders and the assistant hatch a plan: Max must disguise himself as Tito and perform in his place.
