The Wauwatosa Water Utility has a new water consumption tracking tool, EyeOnWater, available to all customers who have an electronic meter installed. All residential meters in Wauwatosa have already been upgraded, and the Water Department is currently in the process of replacing commercial meters. The EyeOnWater tool provides access to a variety of information about your water usage from the convenience of your computer or smartphone.

Water Consumption Tracking

Water Utility customers now have the ability to monitor water consumption online. EyeOnWater offers customers several ways to monitor usage. Customers can see water usage in real time, or view detailed water usage history. The tool is a great way to understand how much water you use, when you use it, and discover short- and long-term water usage trends. Users can view detailed water usage history by day, week, month, and year. If you have multiple Water Utility accounts, you can link them to your EyeOnWater account to conveniently view them all in one place.

Detect Leaks Early

Water leaks can be a huge problem, and the EyeOnWater tool can help identify them quickly. In addition to wasting valuable water resources, water leaks can cause property damage and run up a high water bill. Whether it’s caused by damaged plumbing or simply a toilet valve that isn’t sealing properly, EyeOnWater can detect and alert you to an unexpected leak. Most homes have what is known as intermittent flow: during the times when nobody is home or everyone is asleep, water usage would normally be zero. By setting up usage alerts during these times, customers can use EyeOnWater to discover unexpected water usage that could indicate a leak.

How Do I Sign Up for EyeOnWater?

Signing up for EyeOnWater is easy and free for Wauwatosa Water Utility customers. To begin, visit the EyeOnWater signup page from your computer’s web browser. You can also use the EyeOnWater smartphone app, available from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. To sign up, you’ll need your water account number (listed on your water bill) and an e-mail address. Once you have set up and confirmed your account, you’ll be able to customize alerts, view consumption history, and explore other features of the tool. The Water Utility has created a guide to walk you through the process.

What If I Have Other Questions?

If you have further questions about EyeOnWater, or any other water-related topics, call (414) 479-8963 or e-mail the Water Department.
