City Of Wauwatosa Preview Agendas For Week Of November 16

The capital budget includes infrastructure, city property, and long-term equipment purchases.

  • Aldermanic Selection Committee (November 16, 6:00 pm) will conduct 6 of the 11 interviews of candidates for alderperson of district 5. See the candidates.
  • Common Council (November 17, 7:30 pm) will:
    • have a public hearing about the 2021 operating and capital budgets
    • consider approving the 2021 operating budget
    • review a certified survey map at Wisconsin Avenue and Hwy 45
    • review a conditional use for secondhand merchandise sakes at 3132 North Mayfair Rd
    • review a conditional use at 7600 West Blue Mound Road for a drive through facility (Summit Credit Union)
    • review a conditional use at 7208 West State Street for expanded outdoor seating at Leff's Lucky Town
    • set a public hearing date of December 15, 2020 to consider a planned unit development final plans approval extension at 1401 North Mayfair Road
    • set a public hearing date of December 15, 2020 to consider a zoning map amendment and preliminary plans for a planned unit development at 10845 West Blue Mound Road and 301 North Mayfair Road.
    • review a request for assessment help in making the 2021 assessment
    • review the purchase order for $350,000 to Badger Meter for products related to the water utility's advanced metering infrastructure upgrade
    • approve the removal of the handicap parking area located at 615 N 79th St
    • approve the installation of centerline and parking lane striping long North 116th Street between Watertown Plank Road and North Avenue
  • Aldermanic Selection Committee (November 19, 6:00 pm) will conduct the remaining 5 of 11 interviews of candidates for alderperson of district 5. See the candidates. They will also vote after the final interview on who to recommend.

Virtual Meetings

The Common Council passed a resolution that all citizen committees, standing council committees, and Common Council meetings are to be held in virtual format through December 1, 2020. This means there will be no in-person attendance at city hall during meetings.

Budget Schedule

We are in the process of developing the operating and capital budgets. Our operating budget represents day-to-day expenses, wages, utilities, and purchases of items intended to last less than a year. The capital budget includes infrastructure, city property, and long-term equipment purchases.

  • October 20: Financial Affairs will discuss the Library, Development/TIF, and Debt Service
  • October 27: Financial Affairs will discuss the Police and Finance Departments
  • October 29: Financial Affairs will discuss Public Works, Information Systems, Amendments, and budget adoption
  • November 5: Common Council will hold a public hearing on the 2020 Operating and Capital Budgets
  • November 10: Financial Affairs will discuss the Capital Budget
  • November 17: Common Council will consider adopting the budget
  • November 24: Financial Affairs will discuss the Capital Budget
  • December 1: Common Council will consider adopting the Capital Budget

Public Comment

These city meetings will be held virtually via Zoom. The Common Council passed a resolution that all citizen committees, standing council committees, and Common Council meetings are to be held in virtual format through December 1, 2020. This means there will be no in-person attendance at city hall during meetings.
