Topics this week during city meetingsΒ include:

  • Community Development Authority (October 18, 6:00 pm) will have a public hearing about the 2022 community needs/citizen participation plan. They will also discuss CARES Act COVID funding, 2020-2024 consolidated plan and analysis of impediments.Β 
  • Committee of the Whole (October 19, 6:00 pm) will hear a presentation regarding the final report and recommended zoning changes from Zone Tosa for All
  • Common Council (October 19, 6:00 pm) will discuss:
    • a conditional use at 11728 W. North Avenue for a liquor store
    • a planned unit development at 9480 Watertown Plank Road for a mixed-use development
    • extension of Tosa Restarts Temporary Regulatory Relief program to May 31, 2022
    • approving fireworks for the homecoming football game at Wisconsin Lutheran College on October 23, 2021 for the duration of the football game
    • a resolution asking Milwaukee County to adopt the County Supervisor Map in a reasonable time and without consideration of incumbency
    • creating on-street handicap parking spaces on the south side of Garfield Avenue east of N. 68th Street
    • creating a no parking zone in front of Luther Manor located at 4545 N. 92nd Street
    • a resolution approving an encroachment for installation of an irrigation within the city right-of-way at 8706 W. North Avenue
    • a resolution approving a change order for the Harmonee Parking Lot contract
    • a resolution between the City of Milwaukee and City of Wauwatosa for the purchase of water at wholesale
    • a resolution approving water main easements related to the transfer of portions of the Milwaukee County Water System to the City of Wauwatosa
    • a resolution approving the term sheet with Irgens Development LLC for a proposed development at the UWM Innovation Campus (the Council may go into closed session for this item)
  • Community Development Authority (October 20, 12:00 pm) will talk about an update of East Tosa Walkup project located at 6330 W North Avenue and the Harlow & Hem project located at Blanchard Street Parking Lot at 1330 Wauwatosa Avenue.
  • Financial Affairs (October 21, 6:00 pm) will hear an overview of the 2022 operating budget, including: Municipal Court, Public Works, Fire Department, Health Department, Police Department, Debt Service, and Non-Departmental budgets.

Meeting Format

The Common Council passed a resolution to have hybrid city meetings. This means that the elected officials and public may attend in person or virtually, under a few conditions: universal mask use, physical distancing, staying home if sick, and a virtual option for high-risk individuals.
